Beth Kaylor Brunner works only in acrylics on 2” cradled Gessobord. Gardening and art are two of her passions and she is drawn to the variety, color and shape of the flowers that grow in her garden. Late afternoon light or brilliant morning light, create the most amazing highlights and shadows, which work well with her colorist style.

Beth’s career in art has been building since her childhood in Palmyra, PA, where she painted with her father and took lessons from a local artist. She continued to pursue her art with a degree from Millersville University. Beth has been a free-lance artist, creating a children’s book and logos while living in Oklahoma and New Hampshire. She taught art education in California, Oklahoma and New Hampshire, finishing her last 23 years of teaching in Lititz, PA. She currently resides in Lititz, where she has her studio. She has been the president of the Lititz Art Association for the past eight years and has chaired the Lititz Outdoor Fine Art Show for the last nine years.

For Beth, painting is the one moment when time is suspended and the world falls away. When a painting is going well it flows smoothly onto the canvas and the process is effortless. And then there are those moments that what you are really searching for hangs just beyond your reach whether it’s the right brush stroke or just the right color. Attaining that enigmatic quality of color and light as the painting reaches completion is what the journey is all about.
